Mac mini Remote Rental and Hosting Agreement

Version 2026-10-20.2

This agreement is provided in Japanese, Chinese and English. If the versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.

This agreement sets out the terms between you (the "Customer") and Hengjie Zhikong, a brand owned and operated by 連海合同会社 (LIANHAI LLC) ("we" or "us") for the Mac mini remote rental service and the hosting service (together, the "Service"). By ticking "I agree to the agreement" in the cart and completing payment, you accept this agreement, and the contract is formed when payment is complete.

1. The Service

  1. Remote rental: we provide one Mac mini located in Japan for the exclusive use of one Customer, with an account for remote access (Screen Sharing or SSH). The standard configuration is an Apple M6 chip, 16GB memory and a 256GB SSD; higher configurations are quoted separately.
  2. Hosting: the Customer sends us a Mac they own, and we install it in Japan, keep it powered and connected, and provide basic maintenance such as remote restarts.
  3. Network: the machines connect to the internet through residential lines in Japan. We do not guarantee that the IP address will not change, or that it will have any particular reputation with, be usable on, or not be restricted by any third-party service. The IP address may change because of line maintenance, a change of carrier or similar reasons.

2. Activation

  1. To keep the Service stable and safe, the Customer must complete identity verification before activation by the method we specify (Didit), submitting an ID document and a selfie. If verification does not pass, the Customer refuses it, or the verified identity clearly does not match the payment details, we may decline to activate the Service and refund what the Customer paid.
  2. After payment, our support team contacts the Customer at the email address they entered to arrange activation, and sends the access details once the Service is active.
  3. Hosting starts when we have received and installed the machine. The Customer pays shipping both ways.
  4. If we cannot activate the Service for reasons attributable to us, we refund what the Customer paid for that part of the Service.

3. Fees and payment

  1. Fees are the prices shown on the website and the checkout page at the time of the order (tax included). Payment is made by credit card or other methods through Stripe.
  2. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically: at the end of each period, the same amount for the same period is charged until the Customer cancels.
  3. If we change our prices, we notify the Customer by email at least 30 days in advance, and the new price applies from the next billing period after the notice. The Customer may cancel before the new price applies.

4. Term, cancellation and refunds

  1. The Customer may cancel renewal at any time by email. After cancelling, the Customer may use the Service until the end of the period already paid for, and the Service then ends.
  2. Fees for a period already paid are not refunded on a prorated basis, except where the Service could not be used for reasons attributable to us, or where the law requires otherwise.
  3. As required by Apple's software license, each rental period lasts at least 24 consecutive hours.

5. Prohibited use

The Customer must not use the Service for any of the following. If the Customer lets anyone else use the Service, the Customer is responsible for that person's actions as their own.

  1. Anything that breaks the laws of Japan or of the Customer's location, including fraud, money laundering or other crimes, or helping others commit them;
  2. Spam, phishing, distributing malware, or unauthorized access to, scanning of or attacks on third-party systems (including DDoS);
  3. Mass account creation, fake engagement, bulk purchasing, automation or similar activity intended to get around a third-party service's fraud controls, regional restrictions or terms of use;
  4. Providing the Service's internet connection to third parties as a proxy, VPN or similar, or subletting or reselling the Service;
  5. Infringing others' intellectual property, privacy, reputation or other rights, or distributing illegal or obscene content or content harmful to minors;
  6. Cryptocurrency mining, or anything else that puts excessive load on the machines or network or interferes with the Service;
  7. Any use that breaks Apple's software license agreements;
  8. Anything else we reasonably consider inappropriate.

6. Apple software

macOS and other Apple software installed on the machines are covered by Apple's software license agreements. The Customer must accept and follow those agreements and use the machines for the purposes they allow, including software development, building and testing.

7. Suspension and termination

  1. We may suspend the Service without notice if the Customer breaks this agreement, if we receive a formal request from law enforcement or a network carrier, or where necessary to prevent harm to third parties.
  2. We may terminate this agreement if the Customer seriously breaches it, or fails to remedy a breach after notice. If we terminate because of the Customer's breach, fees already paid are not refunded, to the extent the law allows.
  3. We may interrupt the Service temporarily for maintenance or repairs, and will give notice in advance where we can.

8. Data

  1. The Customer is responsible for backing up their data.
  2. When a rental ends, we erase the machine and reinstall the operating system. All data on the machine is deleted and cannot be recovered.
  3. We do not look at data on the Customer's machine except where necessary for maintenance, repairs, or to comply with the law or a request from law enforcement.

9. Hosted machines

  1. The Customer keeps ownership of a hosted machine.
  2. The Customer pays for hardware faults and repairs, except where damage is caused by our intent or negligence, in which case we are responsible.
  3. When hosting ends, we ship the machine to the address the Customer gives us, at the Customer's expense. If the Customer gives no return address within 60 days after hosting ends and we cannot reach them, we may dispose of the machine as permitted by law.

10. Warranty and limitation of liability

  1. We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service stable, but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, free of faults, or fit for any particular purpose of the Customer.
  2. Our total liability to the Customer in connection with the Service is limited to the fees the Customer actually paid for the Service in the 12 months before the damage occurred, and does not include indirect damage or lost profits.
  3. The previous paragraph does not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence. If the Customer is a consumer under Japan's Consumer Contract Act, this section applies only to the extent that Act allows.

11. Indemnity

If the Customer's breach of this agreement or of the law causes loss to us or a claim against us or a third party, the Customer will compensate us for that loss, including reasonable legal fees.

12. Personal information and investigations

We handle the Customer's personal information under our privacy policy. If law enforcement makes a lawful request, we may provide the Customer's information and usage records to the extent the law requires.

13. Changes to this agreement

If we change this agreement, we post the change on the website and notify the Customer by email at least 30 days in advance. If the Customer keeps using the Service after the change takes effect, they are treated as accepting it. A Customer who does not agree may cancel before the change takes effect.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

This agreement is governed by the laws of Japan. The Osaka District Court has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute arising from it.
